Major Gifts Officer – Brevard Music Center Festival and Summer Institute

Brevard Music Center, Festival and Summer Institute seeks applicants for the position of Major Gifts Officer.

Situated on a lovely wooded 180-acre campus in western North Carolina, Brevard Music Center stands as one of this country’s premier summer training programs and festivals. Each summer 500 gifted students attend to study with distinguished faculty and renowned artists. They participate in a rigorous program including orchestral ensembles, private lessons, chamber music, and opera.

We seek experienced, proven fundraiser with the ability to identify, cultivate, and steward individuals capable of making annual gifts of between $2,500 to $25,000, and capital gifts of $25,000 and more, either as outright gifts or multi-year commitments. Larger gifts will be team driven, and will include input and strategy from this position, the Development Director, the President, and other members of the Music Center’s full-time, as appropriate.

Current annual budget is approximately $6.0 MM; Development annual revenue is approximately $2.0 MM, and the endowment is roughly $27 MM. The Brevard Music Center has been “in the black” for over 35 years.
